Tube Case
What's the plastic tube that came with my violin for?
Hello. I bought a Stentor Conservatoire Outfit and in the box is a long tube that's under the bow in the case. It is a see through tube the same length as the bow and has a black bit on each end that can be taken off.
What is this for?

How can I put my bow in it?
It's slightly smaller than the bow. and is thinner.
That's a string tube. You can put spare strings in it.
In the old days when most strings were gut core, strings were sold straight, not coiled. You bought your new strings at the store then put them in a tube in your case until they were needed.
