Pick up leaves, flowers, rock and sand as souvenir, would you do it?

I am going to travel to Hawaii and I heard about their beautiful plants and nature. Now I am not saying i am gonna damage the nature, but I think one of the most unique souvenirs I can get from an exotic place like Hawaii is some of their leaves and rocks. No I am not gonna take the Silversword flower or anything endangered like that. Just some ubiquitous plants. Would you do that?

I believe it is risky to take plants to or from Hawaii from the prospective that there are dangers to the habitat both on and off the islands, and if you're caught... you may be out some big bucks in fines. There are laws and regulations in place. It's probably safer to purchase some native craft items which are also exotic and unique to Hawaii... and much less likely to be in conflict with any laws or regulations. Not to mention it adds to the economy in a State where many local people are struggling to make ends meet rather than taking something away from them leaving nothing in return.
