Why are my rimless glasses so thick?
i have always weare glasses and a week ago i went in to get a new pair i did and my prescription did not change but a little tiny bit.... so i get a rimless pair (airlocks) and when they come in the lenses are like a qutar inch thick... all most duble my old pair... so the lady who works there said thats just wat they are because the are polycarbonit....will every pair of rim less be like that for me......p.s. she said tht would only be in the rimless not in any other type...... YYYYYYYY??????/

Well---Poly lenses shouldn't make eyeglasses be thick.
Plastic frames hide the thickness of the edges of lenses.
Metal frames with beveled edges hide some of the thickness of lens edges.
With rimless glasses, everything is just hanging out there----
there is no hiding of the thickness.
If the rx went a little stronger, then the lenses will be a little thicker than the old ones.
Sometimes it is possible to get eyeglasses that are thicker than they need to be (by mistake)--someone could check that for you.
Also, smaller sized glasses and anti-reflection coating will help the
overall appearance.
