Glasses Bb Frame
My windows were broke,the insurance company just wants to replace the glass.I want the whole window replaced.?
My house was built before the 1900's, it was vandalized on Friday and 22 panes were shot out by a High powered BB gun. The Home owners insurance just wants to take out the glass in the wood frames and caulk 1/8inch glass back in. My windows are glazed, and the glass is VERY thick...some of the windows are 8ftX5ft. Do I have a right to insist that the whole window be replaced? This is my first claim in 5 yrs. Thanks...Happy Holidays!
I understand that only the glass was broke....but the glass is over 100 yrs old....lead glass and it has been glazed into the frame! Beautiful wood windows....and I have been given a answer of caulk in a 1/8 inch piece of glass......
The insurance company should give the the same type of material or something similar to what you had.
I would insist on it. If you disagree with their decision you can call the department of insurance in your state. Insurance is suppose to try to put you back where you were before the claim happened.
